Overview
Bored newly-wed housewife Hunter (Haley Bennett, Girl on a Train) strives for perfection and people-pleasing in her roles as wife and daughter-in-law within a wealthy, oppressive family. However, when she becomes pregnant, her lack of autonomy and identity overwhelms her and she feels compelled to assert control in increasingly dangerous ways, starting with a crunchy, cracking ice-cube.
Writer-director Carlo Mirabella-Davis was inspired to create this psychological horror-thriller by his maternal grandmother’s experience of marriage and the lasting effect it had on his family. You’ll certainly emerge from it with a lump in your throat.
